Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy sets forth the standards that America’s Agenda: Health Care for Kids (“HCK”) will follow with regard to all activities undertaken and information provided by visitors to www.americasagenda-kidshealth.org (“HCK’s Website”) subscribe to any of [HCK’s] electronic information services, or otherwise affirmatively communicate with HCK (all such visitors are referred to in this Privacy Policy as “Users”).

Information Collected

HCK collects information about Users of HCK’s Website in order to provide electronic information services and construct a secure and personalized Internet resource.

The following list includes the different types of information HCK collects:

Personal Information

“Personal Information” is information that would allow someone to identify or contact Users, including, for example, Users’ names, organizations, addresses, and email addresses.  Personal Information does not include aggregated information or information about Users that, by itself, does not permit the identification of individual persons.  For example, statistics about how many persons visited HCK’s Website last month is not Personal Information.

Nonpersonally Identifiable Information

“Nonpersonally Identifiable Information” is anonymous information about Users that does not include Users’ names or contact information.  Examples of such Nonpersonally Identifiable Information data would be IP addresses, browser types, and access times.  HCK may use this information to customize HCK’sWebsite for Users and may not include or refer to Personal Information, such as Users’ email addresses, when using this type of data.

Aggregated Information

“Aggregated Information” refers to information HCK gathers by aggregating Nonpersonally Identifiable Information to provide summaries of use of HCK’s Websites.  HCK uses Aggregated Information to show usage patterns and to do such things as negotiate with vendors of Internet services.  Such Information is not linked to Users’ Personal Information.

Personal Information HCK Collects

HCK may collect Personal Information when Users:

  • sign up as subscribers to electronic information services;
  • make changes to their subscriber profile information; or
  • send messages, forms, or other information to HCK via email or HCK’s Website.

When Users sign up as subscribers to electronic information services or blogs, HCK asks for Personal Information, such as email addresses, to allow HCK to create Users’ accounts, respond to Users’ questions, or contact Users regarding their accounts.

HCK’s Website uses a standard technology called “cookies.”  Cookies are small pieces of information stored on a User’s hard drive and not on HCK’s Website.  Cookies allow Users to login without entering Users’ login information each time Users use HCK’s Website.  Cookies help HCK understand how subscribers use HCK’s Website, which allows HCK to improve and tailor HCK’s Website.  Users may not be able to use HCK’s Website if they disable cookies.

HCK’s Use of Personal Information.

HCK uses Users’ Personal Information to provide electronic information services, to create a secure and personalized service for its Users, and to contact them, if Users register on HCK’s Website.  Users may opt-out of receiving mailings from HCK at any time by following the instructions in the section on “Correcting, Updating, and Deleting Personal Information” below

Disclosure of Personal Information.

HCK will not disclose Users’ Personal Information to third parties outside the America’s Agenda family of entities without their permission.  So, for example, HCK does not sell Users’ email addresses or other Personal Information to mass marketers.  HCK may disclose Nonpersonally Identifiable Information and Aggregated Information about its Users, but that information does not contain Personal Information.

If law enforcement or judicial authorities require HCK to provide Personal Information concerning any Users, HCK must cooperate with the authorities if their requirement is supported with the necessary legal documentation.

Consent

When Users use HCK’s Website, they are using a service provided by HCK and therefore agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.  This Privacy Policy addresses only activities connected with HCK’s servers.  Other sites, including those that HCK links to and third-party sites or services that HCK co-brands, may have their own policies, which HCK does not control and are not addressed or controlled by this Privacy Policy.

Choices Regarding Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Personal Information.

Users may limit the collection and use of different elements of their Personal Information by not participating in those activities in which HCK collects Personal Information, as listed above.  Users may choose to discontinue the collection, use, and disclosure of their Personal Information by using HCK’s Website without registering or by discontinuing their use of HCK’s Website altogether.

Please note that if Users provide any information directly to parties other than HCK, including sites linked to by HCK’s Website, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of the Personal Information Users disclose to them.  HCK encourages Users to investigate and ask questions before disclosing information to third parties.

Correcting, Updating, and Deleting Personal Information

Users may choose to have their Personal Information corrected or deleted by contacting HCK (see “How to Contact Us” below). 

HCK will provide Users with the opportunity to opt-in to receive communications from HCK.  Once Users opt-in, they can discontinue receiving updates about or other information from HCK by sending a message to info@americasagenda-kidshealth.org

Security Procedures

HCK has implemented security measures to protect Users’ information from loss, misuse, and alteration.  HCK uses industry-standard practices, such as encryption of names and passwords, to safeguard the confidentiality of Users’ Personal Information.

Privacy Protection for Children.

In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, HCK will not knowingly permit persons under the age of 13 to provide Personal Information to HCK through HCK’s Website or otherwise.  If HCK later learns that any User is under the age of 13, HCK will take appropriate steps to remove that User’s information from the database and restrict that User’s access to HCK’s Website.

Notification of Changes

If HCK decides to use Users’ Personal Information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, HCK will notify Users via email.  Users may choose whether or not HCK may use such information in this manner.  In addition, if HCK makes any material changes in its privacy practices that do not affect Users’ information already stored in its database, HCK will post a prominent notice on HCK’s Website notifying Users of the change.  In some cases where HCK posts such notice, HCK may also email Users who have opted to receive communications from HCK, notifying them of the changes in HCK’s Privacy Policy.

HCK believes strongly in respecting the privacy of its Users.  HCK will update and amend this Privacy Policy if and when it is necessary.  Please check back often to read HCK’s most updated and amended statement.  Upon posting the amended version, HCK will take reasonable measures, either through email or other electronic medium, to obtain consent from Users to the amended terms.  If you have any questions regarding this Privacy Policy, please contact HCK (see “How to Contact Us” below).
